Many so-called internet gurus will tell you to build a brand first so a potential client would know who you are and trust you with their money. But I am here to tell you that your client does care to know who you are and what you can do. This might sound a bit sketchy and ‘not true’ but it is. As a brand strategist, I can tell you that people will like to do business with you because they trust you or like your personality. But no one wakes up one day and thinks about giving you their money.
It’s left for you to understand how to make a client say YES to your offer. But what makes anyone approve and decide to work with you?
Clients only say yes to people who understand their pains – who can relate to what they are currently going through in their business, relationship, life, etc. Everyone not only wants people who understand them but who can take their business or life away from living hell by knowing exactly how to help them fix it. Now, this is not just theoretical jargon or word of advice you give, but a practical solution.
To understand what a client wants, you need to start by diagnosing the problem they are facing in their industry. Do in-depth research in knowing their pain point. Then, proceed to offer a simple solution that is difficult to ignore.
For example: “I checked your LinkedIn profile and contents, and I noticed xxxproblemxxx, this could be the reason you’re struggling to achieve xxxpossible resultsxxx. But apply this simple solution and do xxxfree solutionxxx. If you’re not 100% sure how to go about this, I can help you get it done if you want. Kindly let me know if you will be needing help”
The above example could be better, but it is to show a very important lesson – Your clients are always thinking about their problems. Your clients are always thinking about core problems standing between them and their desired results. Whether you are a designer or a business person, whatever you do, you can only be in the circle that attracts one’s attention when you come in with a clear diagnosis of the problem – make them understand why they’ve been struggling, and outline a long-lasting solution. You can’t just wake up one morning and tell a client this is what the problem is if you’ve not looked them up to see what they’re doing and how they’re doing it wrongly.
It takes a process and strategies to build a strong brand that your clients can always recommend. Why don’t you connect with me, and let’s build your business together!
